Driving through the Surrey countryside I came upon an abandoned van full of building debris where on further investigation I found old boxes of Glass Negatives.
The boxes and negatives were soaking wet as the van was open to the elements. I rescued the boxes and took them home where I carefully removed the negatives, carefully separated them and distributed about my home to dry. Once dry I started to study them and found some were dated around 1928. They include some depicting the time when the banks of the River Mole burst and the area around West Molesey was flooded. Others show a wedding and some are family portraits.
I would like to find out if anyone remembers any of the people, the incidents and any other information pertinent to the photographs. I would also like to find out who took the photographs.
Please could you contact me via the website (by clicking the "Comment" button in the top right corner of the page where a picture is displayed) or by post with any information that can unravel the mystery of the origin of the negatives.
Thank you,
Jeff Smith
