Me and My Workshop
If you would like to contact me to discuss anything please don't hesitate to call, write or email.

Born in Liverpool I now live in Redhill and operate from my workshop near Reigate. In the past I have been a Tyre Fitter, Paint Sprayer, Navigation Administrator, Airline Operations Officer, and have worked in, but more recently lectured in Engineering. I still do some teaching, and although sometimes classed as unorthodox, I have a passion for it, and I believe, a talent for it.

Having made my own bed and blanket boxes from reclaimed wood, a friend asked if I would make him a bed as well. This I did and consequently I was asked to make another, for another friend who is 7ft. 2ins. tall. After other requests for pieces I decided to explore the idea of Desirable Debris.

Finding that I also wanted a different lifestyle and I still like to make things, I started Desirable Debris. Due to always wondering why things are thrown away when they can be re-claimed, re-used or recycled, it was obvious that I would only be happy working with re-claimed materials.

A lot of love and passion goes into reclaiming the materials and I hope it shows. I want to make things that are beautiful and different and I want to show people that the current system of consume, consume, consume, is detrimental to everyone in the world. I hope the pieces that I make will last a lifetime, and not just break when you try to move them, I also like the idea that something I make has a history before it was re-used.

I have now moved workshop to a barn near Reigate and I am still improving my collection of tools, mostly reclaimed, or second hand and hunting for wood and debris with which to work.
